Dr. Laxer is a physician at the OrthoCarolina Spine Center. A native of Canada, Dr. Laxer graduated from Vanier College in Montreal with first-class honors. He earned his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Quebec. After medical school, Dr. Laxer completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the McGill University Faculty of Medicine. He received the Eugene Rogala Prize for Resident Orthopedic Research in 1993. Dr. Laxer completed a fellowship training program in spine surgery at McGill University Faculty of Medicine, followed by a second year of fellowship training in spine surgery at the Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY.
Dr. Laxer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He has given presentations at orthopedic meetings and co-authored papers on orthopedic and spine surgery topics.
