Dr. Moorefield earned his graduate and undergraduate degrees at Duke University. After a surgical internship at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham and two years in the public health service in Cherokee, NC, he returned to Duke to complete his orthopedic residency.
Dr. Moorefield has been elected as a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He also is a member of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He truly enjoys caring for people and finds it especially rewarding when he sees physically challenged children begin to walk.
Dr. Moorefield and his wife, Jackie, have three daughters and three grandchildren. He enjoys fishing, woodcarving and walking. He is an elder at the Sharon Presbyterian Church and sings in the choir.
