Dr. Paul Perlik earned his Bachelor of Arts in biology from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and his Doctor of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at the Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco ,and also received a fellowship in hand surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Perlik is noted for having assisted in the hand operation of former President Ronald Reagan, and has been honored several times for academic and military achievements. He spent nearly 11 years practicing hand surgery and orthopedics in the United States Army prior to coming to Charlotte, and returned to active duty with the 312th Evac Hospital in support of Operation Desert Storm.  He was recently re-commissioned as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and returned to active duty once again (January - May 2007) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.   Read more about Dr. Perlik's third posting in the Middle East as a medical officer in OrthoCarolina Magazine.

Dr. Perlik likes to spend as much time as possible with his wife, Leslie, and their three children. He also enjoys golf, cycling and sports of all kinds. Dr. Perlik enjoys meeting new people and helping solve their orthopedic problems.
